Video: Spirit Magic Student Success Story – Bongezwa: A Reclamation of Roots

Have you ever experienced someone transform before your eyes? Have one of those situations where a person in your life suddenly glows with a light and you think to yourself, “Is it a new haircut? A new face cream? Are they in love?” Then you look a little deeper and realise that this person is shining from the inside. That you are witnessing the phenomenon of someone reconnecting to their truth, to finding themself, loving what they see and projecting that clarity as a beacon. As a calling to everyone they encounter, “Come meet me here, you can be here too!

I have seen this with almost every student that comes through the course and recent graduate, beloved Bongezwa, was called to a level of metamorphosis that was both so deep and complete.

I want to highlight the joy Bongezwa took in developing her Spirit Teams throughout her training in Spirit Magic. And I want to share with you how she now experiences less fear, more of her undisputed strengths, and ultimately feels so much safer in the world now due to the presence of her unique and formidable team.

Many students start their healing journey by acknowledging a sense of loss, a feeling that something is missing but have no vocabulary to express this longing. And some, like Bongezwa, have the experience of being discouraged when they try to tap into this mysterious source.

From the first moment Bongezwa opened up in the introductory session to Spirit Magic, something healing was released into the world. The other participants on the call could feel it and praised her for her bravery. I could feel the beginning of something that would grow into much more. It was like looking at a water lily bud, so compact at first but already with the codes and signature that would unfurl into a juicy, majestic bloom.

The aspect of this rebirth that is doubly delightful is her childlike joy. You can see when she speaks that this is an opportunity for her to heal right back from the beginning, as she lets her inner child bring that innate innocence and joy to her identity as a lightworker. She takes as much pleasure in seeing the magic heal a sick chicken as she did when witnessing the miracle of her disabled sister begin to vocalise for the first time since her accident, by bringing her teams forward to offering healing.

She is grounded within the mystical and this power enabled her to overcome dense lifetimes of persecution (including this one) as well as the heavy ancestral burden of being an indigenous South African woman in this day and age.

Bongezwa joins the ranks of past students who have transformed their trauma into intentional healing power. She also reclaimed the pain of her ancestry and moved further back along the line to the healing magic.

This magic is connected to her family name, to her land and the sacred relationship between the two. As she grew in confidence and power she brought this healing forward through her lineage and created a controlled explosion that shone light in the dark places and clinging shadows of the past. She has had the personal growth experience, that students express when they connect with their Teams, of rediscovered talents in the creative realm; Of beginning to write and draw again with new vigour, and, most astonishingly to her, discovered new musical talents which flowed and accelerated a sense of bliss and rightness that she had never felt in her life before.

We all have ancestry and many students emerging as healers must go back through their lines to connect with other suppressed or persecuted sensitives and heal trauma from wars and other hardships. Bongezwa had an additional element because her ancestral line were ancient magic makers that through the course of history had been oppressed and silenced.

So Bongezwa’s growing strength along her journey became a life raft for these issues, a rescue mission for any past ancestors that needed their story to be witnessed. This rush of information for someone living in a country where witchcraft and black magic is still utilised and believed in by the general populace created an extremely edgy situation for her. She rose through this struggle and became a firework, shedding light indiscriminately over her ancestry and into her current social and cultural worlds.

Celebrating Bongezwa in this post and sharing her journey here is a great privilege. Her story is a clear example of how a powerful healer can exist in the now but not be free to shine their light because it is trapped under suffering. These sages and mystics that get called to Spirit Magic can come from many different cultures and can integrate discoveries from past lives, connections and talents, that make perfect sense when they are activated but remain completely hidden until this bad-ass divine support illuminates them.

Bongezwa is thriving in her current life, standing confidently in as a wise woman and healer, lovingly sharing her gifts with the world, and walking with lightness and joy along her chosen paths. She embodies the intriguing and magnetic personality that leads by example, inspiring others by just being herself.
